Coronavirus infection is the new acute and epidemic disease which is caused by a recently exposed virus. This virus appeared from the capital city of China, Wuhan, in December 2019, more than 84K cases were reported in China, including more than 6K deaths of citizens while 80K recovered cases. This new virus can spread from person to person by a mere touch.


This acute virus, Covid-19, first infected the people of Wuhan, a city of China. There were a total of 23.1M confirmed cases of coronavirus worldwide. It affected various countries, including the United States of America, Brazil, Iran, Italy, Pakistan, and India. There were a total of 5.68M confirmed cases of coronavirus in America with more than 176K deaths. America called this virus the Chinese Virus as it was spread from China. 


The person infected with Covid-19 experiences many symptoms including

  • Severe cough
  • Chills 
  • High calenture
  • Compression of breath 
  • Trouble in breathing
  • Muscle or body fatigue 
  • Loss of taste 
  • Migraine 
  • Diarrhea 
  • Gagging
  • Vomiting.

 These coronavirus symptoms last for about 2 to 4 weeks, while young people with strong immunity have a lower risk of being infected with covid-19. There is no proper vaccine for the treatment of Covid-19; however, the prevention includes continual wash of hands, the obligation of wearing masks at public places, and a massive crowd. Social distancing is one of the primary prevention. 


This virus changed the complete lifestyle of people. The strength of people was critically confined. Moreover, the encounters of time have also been affected by this Covid-19 lockdown. Due to this lockdown majority of the markets were closed, and factories were shut down temporarily.

The trade work was stopped, many of the festivals and gatherings have been adjourned. Restaurants, bars, and clubs were closed; various flight operations were cancelled due to the lockdown. Different schools, colleges, and universities were closed in the world to protect people from this acute and severe virus. 


Doctors and some analysts have observed some positive side effects like:

  • Crime incidents have been reduced.
  • Some infectious diseases faded from the environment.
  • Fewer accidents.
  • Increase in freelancing.

Covid-19 had some positive effects during the time of lockdown and pandemic. The pros of this lockdown include online education, business, and the use of technology during Covid-19.


Schools, colleges, and universities all over the world have been extremely tried to approach online learning in the time of extensive lockdown. It became an uncertain outlook of our education structure. This structure and system not only dispensed unmatched ingress to vast segments of association that were discarded before. This online learning has provided students with many opportunities, which were unknown to them. 


Online trade is one of the significant positive effects of this pandemic. The lockdown provided new impulsion to the flourishing part of online occupation globally. Many companies have started an online business to survive in this pandemic. It is estimated that the number of users in the online market and trade is anticipated to increase more than 5 billion subscribers by 2024. 


Covid-19 played an essential role in eradicating pollution from the environment. After the lockdown announcement due to covid-19, the caliber of air and surface commenced to improve, and the other environmental boundaries such as air and water quality in oceans and rivers were enhanced, and the fauna bloomed too.

For example, India has always been a fulcrum of pollution with a large population, heavy vehicles, and contaminated industries. Still, after the declaration of lockdown, pollution has been eradicated from this country too. 


One more positive outcome of Covid-19 is connectivity. People all around the world founded new ways to address the requirement for connectedness. People used social media policy to connect with their beloved ones during the time of the pandemic. They had the chance to spend quality time with their family, which was nearly impossible before lockdown due to their busy routines.


Covid-19 also had some adverse effects on the people:

Due to the Covid-19 economy of various countries, including China, the USA, Italy, Iran, Pakistan, and many other countries went to decline, causing unemployment. China’s economy saw a sharp decline during the months of lockdown.

The country’s businesses and factories were shut down for most of this period to follow strict measures to wipe out the virus. Many countries, including Pakistan’s economy, was devastated at the time of Covid-19. Pakistan’s exports mainly contain textile outcomes; these outlets were down at the time of severe lockdown. Millions of people suffered from food instability. 



The Covid-19 lockdown was so stressful for the majority of people. People were anxious and depressed during the Covid-19 lockdown. Communal health steps such as social detachment and disconnection can assemble people discern secluded, lonely, and deserted. Stress and mental health problems during lockdown caused severe issues. People during Covid-19 worked for long hours with restricted methods and a theoretical framework. 


Due to the covid-19 lockdown, many people were fired from their jobs while employed people had observed their working time penetrate by 23 percent. Covid-19 affected the younger generation more than the other group. Young People faced more harsh and hard circumstances, including disturbance to training, pedagogy, employment, and earnings losses. 


Waste materials increased during the time of lockdown. Several single-use plastics such as plastic cups, plates, and surgical masks played a crucial role during Covid-19. 


During Covid-19, the government of many countries closed every educational institution to prevent the spread of the virus in students. Due to the closure of educational institutions, students studied online at home without face to face instruction from their teachers. Students faced isolation, anxiety, and depression during this lockdown.
